The first of the winter season Pottinger farmer meetings took place in South West Scotland during November. This year’s annual Tillage event saw a new format and a new name for the event in the shape of Tillage Live. Several new features to the event saw the introduction of 5 work stations where visitors could improve their knowledge on subjects such as slug pellet application to ground compaction issues. This year's site for Power in Action was the Denham Estate, a heavy land farm the ground conditions were not helped by very heavy rain in the afternoon before the event, making conditions underfoot very difficult. Patchy weather meant that many local farmers couldn’t get their own work done. This allowed a large contingent to turn out to the first South West Grassland Event for Masons (of Chudleigh) and Kings Farm Machinery (of Exebridge). Just off the busy M5 motorway at Cullompton the site afforded us a large area of second cut grass to demonstrate the potential of Pöttinger equipment to the 400 farmers that attended. This year’s Cereals Event was held just to the south of Lincoln on a former WW2 airfield site at Patrick Dean Farms Ltd. The existing infrastructure of old runways and lots of hard standing made this show easily accessible and with the return of on-site parking for visitors, it made it a much easier show for those visiting.
