The first of the winter season Pöttinger farmer meetings took place in South West Scotland during the November. In conjunction with local dealer RC Dalgliesh of Lockerbie, members of the Pöttinger UK team were able to discuss some topical matters about making quality silage efficiently.

The farmers attending the events in Castle Douglas and Lockerbie were able to hear how innovative designs such as the Pöttinger Alpha Motion front mower range, Multitast guided rakes and tedders are able to keep soil and stone contamination to an absolute minimum.
Also discussed was the extra potential that could be achieved by closely studying grass growth to ensure optimum cutting dates and maximising feed value. Collective data demonstrated the impact of going past optimum cutting date could effectively lose a potential 2,200 kg/ha of milk production.
The largest amount of interest of the night was shown in the Pöttinger forage wagon system.
